Under the Fields of Heaton Lantern Procession

As part of the Under the Fields of Heaton Commemoration of the Heaton Mining Disaster a lantern procession and concert is taking place at The Spinney and Saint Teresa’s. This is to coincide with when the bodies of the men and boys who were trapped in the mine the previous May were finally recovered.
